Doing Business As A Female Entrepreneur In The UAE
Updated: May 26, 2020
Josh Steimle interviews Shimi Shah for Forbes to understand her views on Doing Business as a Female Entrepreneur in the United Arab Emirates.
Shimi explained over the past 15 years, she has made over 50 investments in early-stage businesses as well as starting her own venture capital and advisory business Carousel Solutions.
Shimi explained that contrary to outside impressions of the Middle East, the UAE in fact “…assists women greatly and has a lot going for female entrepreneurs.“ She says funding for early-stage entrepreneurs is a challenge locally, but that this is not a gender issue but common to any new entrepreneurs in the region. She pointed out that there is a proactive female business community with many groups and networking events.
